Swipe44 vs AI Cleaner: Clean Up Storage

Quick answer

AI Cleaner: Clean Up Storage by GRIMLAX TRADE,S.L. is an iPhone storage cleaner that has been on the App Store since 2023 and reached version 6.0 in September 2026. It goes well past the camera roll: duplicate photos and videos, three compression levels, a private vault, contact and calendar cleanup, and an email cleaner. The catch is that its store page never says what the free download covers. Its age rating also says the app contains advertising, and its privacy label declares Identifiers used to track you across other companies’ apps.

Swipe44 turns cleanup into a deck of cards. Swipe right to keep, swipe left to delete, and marked photos wait in a pending pile you clear with one confirmation. It is free to download, shows no ads, needs no account, and scans for duplicates on the device.

Want one subscription that also handles contacts, calendar, email and video? Pick AI Cleaner: Clean Up Storage. If you only want photos cleaned, with no ads and a lower price, pick Swipe44.

Side-by-side

Where AI Cleaner: Clean Up Storage wins

It cleans far more than your camera roll. The description covers a private storage space for photos, videos and contacts, duplicate and incomplete contact cleanup, removal of old calendar events, and an email cleaner that deletes unwanted mail and unsubscribes from spam lists. Version 5.0 in February 2026 added Email Check, a lookup that tells you whether your address has turned up in a data breach. A one-tap comprehensive clean runs all of the app’s functions at once. Swipe44’s listing describes photos and nothing else.

Video and compression. AI Cleaner scans for duplicate photos and videos, and it compresses both at high, medium or low quality. Neither video nor compression appears anywhere in Swipe44’s listing, so if your storage problem is 4K clips rather than screenshots, this is the app that says it handles them.

A longer track record and a lot more feedback. It has been on the App Store since 2023, shipped version 6.0 on 9 September 2026, and has 4.58 from 208,394 US ratings. Swipe44 arrived in 2026 and has 6 US ratings, all five stars, which is not a number you can compare with hundreds of thousands. Reviewers say AI Cleaner freed real space quickly (24 of 500 recent reviews, all five-star), and 21 of 500 mention its duplicate detection, in praise and in complaint. It is also listed in 16 languages against Swipe44’s 1.

Where Swipe44 wins

No ads. Swipe44’s description says “No ads, no account needed”, and its age rating, privacy label and Play listing all agree. AI Cleaner’s age rating carries the Contains Advertising annotation, and its privacy label lists a Developer’s Advertising or Marketing purpose for Usage Data.

A privacy label with no tracking section. Swipe44 declares no data used to track you. It does declare Identifiers, Usage Data, Diagnostics and Purchases collected for analytics under Data Not Linked to You, so it is not a blank label, but nothing on it is used to follow you elsewhere. AI Cleaner’s label declares Identifiers, specifically User ID and Device ID, used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. Swipe44 keeps your photos on the device with no account, and cloud-stored originals are never downloaded, so the app works from thumbnails and photo details.

A review step before anything goes. Every photo you swipe left lands in a pending pile you can look through. The whole pile is then deleted in one system confirmation. You can restore any photo before you commit, undo your last swipe, see each photo’s size on the card, and recover anything from the recently deleted album afterwards. AI Cleaner’s listing does not describe a review stage. In its recent reviews, 28 of 500 say the cleanup fell short of what they expected, and 11 of 500 say you end up selecting and deleting by hand anyway.

iPad and Android. Swipe44 runs on iPhone and iPad and has a Google Play listing under com.ehmtech.photo. AI Cleaner: Clean Up Storage is iPhone only on the App Store, with no iPad build. A Play listing titled “AI Cleaner - Phone Cleaner” exists under the package ai.storage.cleaner.app, but nothing in the store data confirms that GRIMLAX TRADE,S.L. publishes it, so treat it as a separate listing rather than the same app on Android.

Pricing

• Swipe44 is free to download, and the listing does not spell out what the free download covers. Pro is $29.99 a year, with a one-time $19.99 introductory offer, or $2.99 a week, after a 7-day free trial.
• AI Cleaner: Clean Up Storage is free to download. Its store page does not say what the free download covers either, and no in-app purchase names a feature, so you cannot tell from the listing what the subscription unlocks. Weekly plans are listed at $6.99, $9.99 and $10.99, and annual plans at $34.99 (“1 Year Ultimate”) or $39.99 (“1 Year Extended”). There is no monthly plan, and the plan names offer a 3-day or a 7-day free trial depending on which one you land on.

A year of Swipe44 on the annual plan costs $29.99, or $19.99 with the introductory offer. A year of AI Cleaner costs $34.99 or $39.99 depending on which annual entry you are shown. Weekly is the expensive route on both: 52 weeks at $2.99 is $155.48, and 52 weeks at $6.99 is $363.48. Before you start a trial: of 500 recent AI Cleaner reviews, 69 say the paywall arrives sooner than the free framing led them to expect, and 57 say they were charged during or after a trial.

Which one should you pick?
